you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” - 1 Corinthians 15:58

I grew up in a small town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where I fell in love with the outdoors. Hunting, camping, downhill skiing and fishing were among my family's favorites. I attended Ferris State University where I received my degree in engineering and an added bonus was that I met my husband there!

Alex and I have been married 20 years and moved to Monroe County in 2006 to start and raise our family. We have two sons Derek and Henry.  Derek is a sophomore at Gibault and Henry is an 8th grader at SPPCS. We love to go on adventures as a family and can often be found in remote places camping and fishing. Alex serves as a volunteer firefighter for the Maeystown Fire Department and I am the mission leader at our church as well as the leader of the Bi-county Backpack Program, which provides food to over 100 local youth and their families every weekend.

We made the decision to switch schools to SPPCS when Derek was in first grade and immediately fell in love with the family atmosphere it offers. This will be my 8th year teaching at SPPCS. The first 5 years I was a substitute teacher both short and long term and am now the JH Science teacher. I also had the opportunity to be active in the school by serving on and leading the Gala committee for 4 years. Throughout this time I have grown my love for teaching and realized the importance of a faith based education. I feel truly blessed that God has pointed me in this direction and cannot wait to see His plan unfold.

I love being a part of the SPPCS faculty, working with all of your wonderful children, sharing my passion for science, and helping them learn through fun, hands-on, and engaging activities during science class.
